The DART Lab at Kansas State University is pleased to share an overview of the Drought-Resilient Alfalfa Production (D-RAP) project, led by Ph.D. candidate Sourajit Dey (@sourajit_deyy).
This research evaluates alfalfa responses to different irrigation levels based on crop evapotranspiration ...conducted in Manhattan, Kansas. The project aims to advance drought-resilient and water-efficient alfalfa production by integrating proximal and remote-sensing tools to improve crop water use assessment and irrigation management under limited-water conditions.
The D-RAP project is supported by the USDA NIFA Alfalfa Seed and Alfalfa Forage System Program and North Central Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (NCR-SARE).

We had the opportunity to welcome military personnel from different parts of the world to KSU for a field day focused on precision agriculture. During the event, we demonstrated how advanced sensors and precision agriculture technologies are used to monitor ...crops, collect high-quality data, and support more efficient and sustainable agricultural management.

Today we said goodbye to our Brazilian intern, Rafael, after an incredible year in our lab.

We take technology directly to the field 💻🛜. Our team was in Garden City installing AquaSpy and Sentek sensors, as well as rain gauges. These tools will enable us to obtain accurate data to optimize crop management. 🌾
